If a permit is needed, we arrange the application. The municipality usually decides within 8 to 14 weeks.

Good to know before you start
Owners' association (VvE)
Own an apartment? Then you often need permission from your owners' association (VvE) as well as from the municipality. They are two separate tracks. We help you prepare a clear proposal for the VvE.
Wooden foundations
Many Amsterdam buildings stand on wooden piles. For a roof extension or a heavy extension, a foundation survey is often needed first. Surveys and repairs are done by specialised partners; we translate the outcome into your renovation plan.
Typical timelines
- Extension: 6 to 9 weeks of building, from first day on site to handover.
- Complete renovation: 9 to 15 weeks of building.
- Permit, if needed: usually 8 to 14 weeks, before building starts.

As an indication: an extension costs around €1,800 to €3,500 per m² and a complete renovation around €1,200 to €2,800 per m², excluding VAT. After a free visit you get a fixed price.
